Spades Break does not require you to create an account or sign in to play.
Device access
Spades Break does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or iOS Location Services. As described below, analytics and advertising providers receive network information that may be used to estimate a coarse region.
Information stored on your device
The app may store local preferences on your device so your setup is ready the next time you play. These preferences may include:
- Sound and music settings
- Selected table and deck styles
- Selected difficulty
- Remove Ads entitlement state
- A randomly generated analytics installation identifier, if you enable gameplay analytics
Gameplay analytics
Gameplay analytics are optional and off by default. If you enable Share Gameplay Analytics in Privacy & Support, Spades Break uses PostHog product analytics to understand how the game is played, evaluate game balance, and guide improvements. The app creates a persistent random installation identifier and sends it to PostHog with analytics events. This identifier is not your name, email address, Apple Account, or advertising identifier, but it allows events from the same installation to be associated across play sessions.
You can turn gameplay analytics off in Privacy & Support at any time to stop future gameplay analytics requests. While analytics are off, the app does not send gameplay analytics or create a new analytics identifier. This setting is separate from Apple's tracking permission and Google's ad consent choices.
Analytics events may include match and round starts, completions, and abandonment; bids, tricks, scores, outcomes, and hand suit counts; selected difficulty and game settings; event timestamps and durations; and the app version, build number, and platform. Spades Break does not send your contacts, photos, microphone recordings, precise GPS location, payment-card details, or a name or email address you provide to these gameplay events.
Analytics requests are sent to PostHog's United States cloud service. PostHog receives and currently stores the client IP address associated with each request and may use it to derive coarse geographic information. Spades Break uses this PostHog data for product analytics, not for third-party advertising or tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Spades Break offers an optional, one-time Remove Ads purchase. Apple may process purchase and transaction information according to its own policies. Spades Break does not receive your full payment card details.
Advertising & consent
Spades Break uses Google Mobile Ads to show ads to users of the free version. Google services may process information such as device identifiers, advertising data, IP address, app interactions, and diagnostic information, depending on your device settings, region, consent choices, and Google’s practices.
Before starting the advertising SDK or requesting ads, the app requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) system when your tracking choice has not yet been determined and your device permits the request. With your ATT permission and any required regional consent, Google and its advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier and advertising data together with data from other companies' apps and websites to personalize ads and measure advertising. This is tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies.
If you choose Ask App Not to Track, or tracking is restricted, the app requests non-personalized ads only when Google's regional consent requirements permit ad requests. Google does not receive your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) in those requests. Non-personalized ads may still involve data processing for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and other purposes described by Google. If your ATT choice remains undetermined, the app does not request ads. Declining tracking does not prevent you from playing.
Google User Messaging Platform presents and manages regional privacy choices where required. These messages may vary by location. Google consent is separate from Apple's tracking permission and does not override a decision not to allow tracking. Where required, you can revisit regional choices using Privacy Options in the app's Settings. You can change Apple's tracking permission in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Choosing the one-time Remove Ads purchase stops ads from being shown in Spades Break. It does not change your separate gameplay analytics preference.
